蘑菇传媒 students Allysa Wiley, sophomore psychology major from Spring, and Ben Mercer, junior social work major from Harker Heights, host the podcast, and it鈥檚 overseen by Gabriella Silva, enrollment marketing creative project manager, and Darci Armstrong (鈥14), director of enrollment marketing and events. The podcast is available on and can be found on the Welcome to 蘑菇传媒 , , and page.
鈥淭his idea came to life after sensing that there was a need for student voices and stories to be heard in an easily accessible way,鈥 Silva said. 鈥淣ot only did we want to hear from current students, but from 蘑菇传媒 alumni, faculty, staff and campus guests as well.鈥
The target audience of the podcast is prospective students who want to learn more about 蘑菇传媒 culture and college life as a whole. Various guest speakers will visit the podcast to speak about various 蘑菇传媒 programs, student experiences and more.
鈥淲e’re interested in hearing authentic stories from 蘑菇传媒 Wildcats 鈥 wherever they are in the world and their lives 鈥 and how 蘑菇传媒 has influenced them on their journeys,鈥 Silva said.
Another primary goal of the podcast is to connect 蘑菇传媒 alumni with current students to deepen relationships and remind them of the community they experienced as students. Student-run and local businesses will also be given space on each episode to promote their products and services to support student endeavors and the Abilene community.
鈥淭his podcast is meant to connect all of us,鈥 Silva said. 鈥淲e hope listeners enjoy and relate to the stories others have to tell. We hope people will listen and engage with it and let us us know who they鈥檇 like to see as guests on the show.鈥
