Research Grants and Funding

We provide internal funds to help faculty members launch research projects and offer support to faculty members seeking external funding of research efforts. Visit our Research Grants and Funding page for details about how ORSP can help.

Internal Grants

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ offers a number of grant opportunities for students and faculty who do scholarly research or creative work.

External Funding

A primary responsibility of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is to assist faculty and staff in their pursuit to obtain external funds to support scholarly research and projects. This is typically a multi-step process which involves:

  1. Finding a funding agency
  2. Writing the grant proposal, contract or cooperative agreement
  3. Gaining internal approval to submit the proposal or enter into a contract or agreement
  4. Submitting the proposal
  5. Post-award management

2026–2027 Research Development Academy

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), in partnership with the Adams Center for Teaching and Learning, is pleased to offer the 2026–2027 Research Development Academy (RDA), a 9-month professional development program running from September 2026 through May 2027. The RDA is designed to support full-time, PI-eligible faculty at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ who are developing their research, scholarship, and creative activity programs, with priority given to those in the early stages of building their scholarly agenda. Applicants must be full-time Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ faculty and eligible to serve as a Principal Investigator. The application deadline is March 31, 2026. To apply, click .
